چکیده
1. Source of contaminant release into the environment. 2. Environmental media (including groundwater, surface water, air, soil, sediment, household dust, biota) serve to move contaminants from the source to points where human exposure can occur. 3. Point of exposure (a location where humans contact a contaminated medium, such as a playground, water body, well water, and food services). 4. Route of exposure (means by which the contaminant actually enters or contacts the body, such as ingestion, inhalation, and dermal absorption). 5. Receptor population (persons who are exposed to the contaminants of concern at a point of exposure).

Exposure Assessment to Environmental Pollutants in Human Health Risk Assessment Studies; Overview on New Approaches
Background & objectives: Because of human exposure to various environmental risk factors during the lifetime, the actual exposure estimation has been considered as one of the most important challenges for researchers and decision makers. Considering the contribution of environmental risk factors in the burden of diseases, this study aimed to provide new approaches in exposure assessment filed b...

Background and Objective: Measurment of metals concentrations in scalp hair is a well known method for monitoring exposure to heavy metals, assessment of heavy metal poisoning, evaluation of nutrient levels and diagnoses of diseases. The present research was conducted to evaluate the concentrations of heavy metals in the scalp hairs of the local fishermen from Shif Island (Bushehr) and assess t...
متن کاملHuman Health Risk Assessment of Cadmium Exposure in Dry Deposition of Atmospheric Dust (Uncertainty Analysis)
Background and purpose: The atmospheric suspended particulate matter is a major route of human exposure to different kinds of environmental pollutants especially toxic heavy metals. The aim of this study was to assess the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk of cadmium in dry deposition of atmospheric dust in Qazvin, Iran. Materials and methods: Glass traps were used for sampling dry atmosp...

The dialkyl- or alkyl/aryl esters of 1, 2-benzenedicarboxylic acid, which are known as Phthalates, are high-production volume synthetic chemicals and considered as environmental pollutants, due to high production and uses in community, plastics industry and common consuming products. Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is the most abundant phthalate in the environment. Human exposure with DEHP c...
متن کاملP-43: Reproductive Toxicity of Low Metal Exposureon Male
Background: Recent evidence has indicated a deterioration in reproductive health of men in many countries over the past few decades, particularly a decrease in semen quality and an increase in prevalence of prostate cancer. The human male has a relatively low fertility potential as compared to other mammals. Thus, the human male may be at greater risk from reproductive toxicants. For example, t...
